So the countdown to 2018 has well and truly begun, with only a few hours left until midnight in the UK I wanted to post my plan for the coming year. Resolutions aside, I want to use 2018 to focus on my own personal health and wellbeing, and hopefully inspire a few people along the way. Alongside that, I want to focus on our planet and what we can do in our personal lives to help preserve the world we live in.
So I’ve created something special, something I want to nurture throughout the year, and something that will encourage me to focus on different aspects of my life every month, building up to a well-rounded and well-loved 2018. I’ve created my own project.
We all share so much love for each other, but how often do we find it difficult to give that love back to ourselves? We speak to ourselves in a way we would never speak to a friend or family member, and we lay the pressure and criticism on thick.
So in 2018, I’m aiming to change that with a project I’ve branded 12 Months to Me. 12 months to focus on myself and to grow as a person, and 12 months to help build the dreams and goals I aspire to and to live my best life – both to benefit me and my circle, but also the space I take up on our planet. It sounds ridiculously cheesy but hey, I don’t care. I want you to come along for the ride. Let’s share all the self-love and self-care this 2018!
You can join me and I’d love you to! Each month I’ll be focusing on a different theme, and will be using the hashtag #12monthstome on my social media platforms to highlight the things I’ve done to promote that theme in my everyday life. Each month I’ll also post suggestions for things to do, things that will help you achieve whatever monthly goals you may have set.
Here are the themes for the first quarter of 2018:
- January: Joy. January can be one of the bleakest months of the year. Use the hashtag to show others what brings you joy in your life, and to find new ways to find it every day.
- February: Fitness. Fitness for every level, from those who aspire to a 5k, those spin-class pros, and those everyday yogis. Tag the things you’re doing to help improve your fitness during February.
- March: Minimalism. Time for a spring clean. Minimise the clutter in your space, the things you buy, and the things you throw away. Use the hashtag to share what you get up to on social media.
